P0157 Engine Trouble Code

Meaning of P0157 engine trouble code is a kind of powertrain trouble code and theoretically you can drive for a few weeks or even months with a broken MAF sensor. You will notice a decrease in gas mileage and over time the car will eventually start stalling a lot. At a shop, the replacement cost is between $240-$400 depending on the car, but that's usually the cost of parts because the labor is relatively simple.

P0157 Fault Symptoms :

  1. Check engine light comes on
  2. Engine stalling or misfiring
  3. Engine performance issues
  4. Car not starting
If one of these reasons for P0157 code is occuring now you should check P0157 repair processes.
Now don't ask yourself; What should you do with P0157 code ?
The solution is here :

P0157 Possible Solution:

P0157 Engine

The crankshaft sensor signals the fuel injection computer or the ignition control when the cylinders are firing. This causes the ignition coil to provide a spark and the injector to inject fuel into each cylinder at the right time.If either sensor isn't working correctly, the car will run rough and the engine will be less efficient. In later car models, the car's computer can usually keep the vehicle running, but the engine warning light on the dashboard goes on to warn the driver.

P0157 Code Meaning :

OBD-II Diagnostic Powertrain (P) Trouble Code For Engine Intake Valve Control Solenoid Circuit Low Fuel Rail/System Pressure - Too High Cylinder 1 Injector Circuit Low Shift/Timing Solenoid Malfunction/ 3-2 Shift Solenoid Circuit Electrical

The poor running symptoms are consistent with a MAP sensor malfunction. In addition, in some cases, a bad MAP sensor will not throw a code. Again, the ELD code likely represents a separate wiring issue.

P0157 OBD-II Diagnostic Powertrain (P) Trouble Code Description

P0157 OBD-II Trouble Code The heated oxygen sensor 2 (HO2S), after three way catalyst (manifold), monitors the oxygen level in the exhaust gas on each bank. For optimum catalyst operation, the air fuel mixture (air-fuel ratio) P0157 code.

Main reason For P0157 Code

The reason of P0157 OBD-II Engine Trouble Code is Fuel Rail/System Pressure - Too High.

P0157 DTCs may also be triggered by faults earlier down the line. For example, a dirty MAF sensor might be causing the car to overcompensate in its fuel-trim adjustments. As a result, oxygen sensors are likely to report fuel mixture problems.
